About the Art Park

Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, which consists of 104 acres of land and over four miles of hiking trails, is one of the first outdoor sculpture parks in this country. The park sits atop a breathtaking rural landscape within upstate New York's hills, meadows, and forests. Tucked into these elements of natural beauty are Stone Quarry's heart: original, one-of-a-kind works of art.

The Art Park serves a dual mission: preservation of the land, and the creation and exhibition of works inspired by the relationship between art and nature.

photoThe Art Park showcases both established and emerging artists. Sculptors have been joined by visual and performing artists from many cultural traditions. Painters, potters, dancers, musicians, weavers, and writers from around the World have all found inspiration in the Art Park's unique natural setting.

Public programs and educational outreach build off of this cultural richness. School visits and college classes punctuate a busy schedule of exhibitions, lecture-demonstrations, workshops and classes. Special events have included the "Art in the Sky" kite festival, the Society for New Music's concert series, the Syracuse Ceramic Guild's Pottery Fair, as well as "Talons! A Birds of Prey Experience".

The Art Park is open to the public 365 days a year, from dawn until dusk. Our offices in the Hilltop House are open Tuesday through Friday, 2pm – 6pm. The John & Virginia Winner Memorial Art Gallery and our Studio Gift Shop are open from April to October, 12pm – 5pm, Tuesday - Sunday. Suggested donation is $5 per car. We are located one mile east of Cazenovia, off of U.S. Route 20 — about 25 miles southeast of Syracuse, NY.
